What are your Sunday essentials? I love Sunday, I love the rest, and a day at home with my family. I have set Sunday aside as a non-working day. While Sunday just happens to be the day that most of the United States celebrates the Sabbath, it really doesn't matter what day it is on. Just that one day a week is set aside for worship and reflection. I am a Sabbath Day observer through and through. I love waking up and having a good breakfast, and heading to church with my family. I love coming home after our meetings, and putting the littlest one down for a nap, then snuggling up to a whole family movie under a cozy blanket (I usually "accidentally" fall asleep). I love playing games with my kids, and just watching the day that sometimes looks a bit circus like. It has taken a bit of work for my kids to get used to the way we do Sunday. We stick together as a family. We don't go out and play with the neighborhood kids, we don't go shopping, we don't go to movies. Sometimes it's boring for kids, but I found a super cool pinterest "Sunday Cans" idea. A jar filled with ideas of things we CAN do on Sunday. Like write in a journal, or letters, draw, go for a walk, watch uplifting movies, read, play games, etc... It's actually quite a long list of things we can do, it just takes a bit of a shift from our every day lives. I am grateful for the simplicity of Sunday in every way! A day of doing just the essentials.
