It's December 27. The holiday season for the most part has passed. We moved to the area about a year ago, and my brother is staying with us, but other than that we have no family. Christmas Eve, a family we have grown very close to called and we ended up getting together for dinner and games, and then they stayed for my families skype call with grandpa reading Luke 2, and those who had performed missions sharing Christmas stories from their mission.
Christmas day was beautiful, and I hope it was for you as well. We didn't go as overboard as I was starting to think we had done. Each of the kids ended up with full stockings, a couple of gifts from us, and one from each sibling. AND they LOVED every. single. gift. There was not one unappreciated gift and for that I am thrilled. Each child put real thought into each others gift, including mine. And this year my hubby stepped up his game. In previous years I had kids asking... "mom, why didn't you get anything? " NOT THIS YEAR!!
BUT... my favorite part of the day was our church service. We had a wonderful music program, which I was able to participate in this year. The song selections were perfect, the performances were wonderful. The spirit and message of Christmas were both very strong and clear.
This is one of the songs I sang, but with an all women's choir.
